The new cash for clunkers deal, coming out of the last stimulus bill passed. The government has set aside about $300 million for states to use to give out rebates to buyers of energy-efficient appliances like freezers, refrigerators, furnaces and central air conditioners. Each State will be funded $1 per person. So maybe your talking around $200 off products that have the “Energy Star” sticker on it. If this deal goes as good as Cash for Clunkers did, we should burn up that $300 Million in one Month.
The program has no date at this point of starting. Rumors it will start year end or early new year.
